A living museum of 112+ indigenous and exotic species, set within the Western Ghats foothills at Karimbam.
Our Biodiversity Centre
Established in 2005 by the Kannur District Panchayat, the Biodiversity Centre at DAF Taliparamba is a carefully curated collection of over 112 indigenous and exotic plant species.
Each plant is properly identified with display boards showing local names, scientific names, and specific uses โ making it invaluable for students, researchers, teachers, and the general public.
A comprehensive publication cataloguing all species was released in 2005 and is available at the farm office for reference.
Indigenous and exotic trees, medicinal plants, and rare flora from across the region.
Local names, scientific names, and uses clearly presented for each species.
A 2005 publication documents all biodiversity centre species for researchers.
Thousands of students and researchers visit annually from across Kerala and neighbouring states.
Groups, schools, colleges and researchers are welcome. Contact the farm office to arrange guided visits.
