📍 Karimbam, Taliparamba · Kannur District Panchayat, Kerala 670142
One of India's oldest agricultural farms — spanning 56.35 hectares of lush biodiversity, rare fruit orchards, spice gardens, and cutting-edge tissue culture laboratories.
Our Story
Established in 1905 at Karimbam, Taliparamba by the eminent botanist Sir Charles Alfred Barber under the Madras Presidency, DAF Kannur began as a pepper research station and grew into one of Kerala's most celebrated agricultural institutions.
Transferred to the Kannur District Panchayat in 1996, the farm now serves as a model demonstration unit, training centre, biodiversity hub, and a cherished farm tourism destination.
Notable visitors include India's first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, who visited in April 1958 along with Indira Gandhi and Chief Minister E.M.S. Namboodirippad.
